NatWest has announced a £1 million funding package for Glassboxx, a Newbury-based digital content distribution company, to support its next phase of growth and innovation. The investment will enable the business to invest in its technology platform, advance a significant new AI capability, and accelerate growth with publishers and university presses worldwide.
Funding to drive global expansion and AI development
The funding will help Glassboxx expand its global customer base, building on relationships with just over 100 publishers and leading university presses worldwide. The investment will also accelerate expansion within the higher education sector, supporting the onboarding of additional university press customers, including opportunities with some of the world's most prestigious academic institutions.
Alongside platform investment, Glassboxx is developing a significant AI capability designed to deliver deeper insight and intelligence across its publisher services, enabling publishers to understand and grow their direct audiences at scale. The funding will also support investment in marketing, training, and the recruitment of new employees across software development, sales, publisher success, and technical support.
New jobs and regional economic growth
Newly created roles in the Thames Valley will help contribute to local economic growth, supporting the bank's flagship Growing Together campaign. By creating new highly skilled roles in the Thames Valley, the investment will contribute to local economic growth while helping the business meet increasing customer demand.
The investment will help Glassboxx strengthen its technology infrastructure, including cloud and DevOps capabilities, platform optimisation, new product functionality, and enhanced cyber security measures. The Newbury-based company has switched its banking to NatWest, accessing the bank's specialist intellectual property (IP)-backed lending proposition to support its next phase of expansion.
