A Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) claimant who receives a staggering £50,000 from four benefits has thanked trolls for funding her lifestyle. TikTok content creator and influencer Vicki Hancock, a stay-at-home mum from the UK, has spoken out about her earnings.
Breakdown of Benefits
Vicki explained that she receives £3,000 in Universal Credit each month from the Labour Party government and DWP. On top of this, she also receives £880 in Disability Living Allowance (DLA), £240 in Child Benefit (CB), and £83.30 in Carer’s Allowance. Vicki has three children, two of whom have additional needs.
She wrote: "Me when my UC, DLA, child benefit and carers allowance all drop on the same day…" She added she may get "hate" for revealing her monthly earnings, but told trolls to continue working to "fund" her lifestyle.
Response to Criticism
She laughed: "Haters gonna hate but keep working to fund my lifestyle!" In one video, Vicki also mimed along to the lyrics: "I got like hella money." In reply, a viewer said: "You may have the money but no morals or class! And that’s something money can’t buy!!!" Another added: "It shouldn’t be to fund your lifestyle, the benefits are to better your child’s life and fund what they need!"
Replying to the criticism, Vicki took to the comments section to fire back: "They need their mama to have pretty nails and lashes?" Another replied to her and said: "Your kids will find this embarrassing when they’re older." Another viewer said: "Absolute joke."
Support from Followers
Vicki wasn't universally slammed, though, with some TikTok viewers rushing to her aid. In support of her, one viewer wrote: "Get that bag girl." And then another chimed in, saying: "I wish people remember that mums worked before they had kids and payed tax too."
