State Pensioners Born Before 1951 to Receive £739 DWP Payouts in June
State Pensioners Born Before 1951 Get £739 in June

State pensioners born before 1951 are on track to receive £739 payouts from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in June. Those on the basic rate—men born before 1951 and women born before 1953—are due £739.60 following the April uprating.

Basic State Pension Details

The full basic State Pension is now worth £184.90 per week. Since the DWP pays it every four weeks, a standard payment period can total up to £739.60. To qualify, individuals must have made sufficient National Insurance (NI) contributions during their working life. These contributions are deducted from salaries and count toward State Pension entitlement rather than being saved or invested directly.

The amount received depends on the number of qualifying years of contributions or credits. For those approaching retirement, 35 qualifying years are typically needed to receive the full amount. However, for the basic rate applicable to those who reached pension age before April 6, 2016, at least 30 qualifying years of NI contributions were required.

New State Pension

For individuals who reached pension age on or after April 6, 2016, the New State Pension applies. This usually requires 35 qualifying years to get the full amount, with a minimum of 10 years needed to receive any payment at all.

Triple Lock Increase from April 2026

As of April 6, 2026, the State Pension will increase again due to the triple lock mechanism. This ensures the pension rises by the highest of inflation, wage growth, or 2.5 percent. Wage growth, at 4.8 percent, was the highest measure this time, leading to an increase of about £11 per week for the full new State Pension, taking it from £230.25 to £241.30.

From April 6, 2026, the full new State Pension will be £241.30 per week, or £12,540 annually, paid every four weeks.
