Nationwide Building Society has confirmed the return of its Fairer Share payout scheme for 2026, offering eligible customers a free £100 bonus payment next month. The building society announced that certain members with savings accounts will qualify for the cash boost if they also hold a Nationwide current account.
Eligibility Criteria
To receive the £100 payment, customers must have a Nationwide current account and a savings account that contained at least £100 at some point during March 2026. Accounts with minimal balances or those that were empty will not qualify. The cut-off date for eligibility was March 31, 2026, so it is too late to top up accounts now.
Payment Details
The Fairer Share payments will be deposited into eligible members' current accounts between June 10 and 30, 2026. Nationwide has been running the giveaway since 2023 and this year marks the fourth consecutive year of the scheme.
Nationwide stated: "The Nationwide Fairer Share payment is £100 for the fourth year running. Over 4 million of our members will receive it. We will have paid out over £1.5 billion in total to eligible members since 2023. You must be a member of Nationwide with a qualifying current account, plus either qualifying savings or a qualifying mortgage. And you need to have met these criteria when we last checked on March 31 this year."
The building society emphasized that payments will only be made into an open Nationwide current account. Dame Debbie Crosbie, Nationwide’s chief executive, commented: "More people than ever are choosing Nationwide. Our growth in mortgages, retail deposits and personal current accounts is leading the market, which means we can again make a Fairer Share payment to eligible members."
