Tesco Warns £17m Clubcard Vouchers Expire May 31

Tesco has issued a warning that approximately £17 million worth of Clubcard vouchers are set to expire at the end of May. The supermarket distributes Clubcard vouchers every three months—February, May, August, and November—and they remain valid for two years. The vouchers that will become invalid were first issued in May 2024 and will lose all value after 11:59 PM on May 31, as reported by the Mirror.

How to Use Your Vouchers

Shama Wilson, Tesco Group Membership and Loyalty Director, stated: “This is a significant quarter for Clubcard voucher expiry, with over £17 million in vouchers due to expire at the end of May. Using your Clubcard vouchers for discounts on food at our restaurant partners, savings on days out across the UK, towards a railcard, or for hotel bookings are all excellent ways to save money this half term. I encourage everyone to check their Clubcard account to see if they have any vouchers to use.”

Tesco's Free Fruit & Veg for Schools Programme

This reminder comes as Tesco launches the Giant Fruit & Veg Challenge, inviting children to create fun recipes packed with fruits and vegetables. The winning dish will be served in over 1,500 schools, marking the expansion of its Free Fruit & Veg for Schools programme. Research from Tesco shows that only one in ten UK children consume their recommended five portions of fruit and vegetables on a typical school day, and over a third (37.5%) of parents report that their child refuses fruit and vegetables altogether.

The nationwide competition encourages children to be more adventurous with produce and to celebrate the programme's expansion. The challenge is supported by JLS star turned farmer JB Gill and his son Ace, along with a panel of experts and nutritionists. Tesco aims to support one million school children across the UK through this initiative, along with its Fruit & Veg Grants and Free Fruit for Kids in stores. Customers can help grow the programme by purchasing fruit and vegetables at Tesco until May 24, with Tesco donating for each purchase.
