A beloved local in the heart of Moseley has been given a new lease of life, as Kennedy's Pub officially opened its doors to the public. The establishment welcomed its first customers at 12pm on Friday, November 28, marking a significant moment for the village.
A Fresh Start for a Community Favourite
Taking over the site that was formerly known as The One Trick Pony Club, the venue has been completely transformed by its new, independent family owners. Their mission is clear: to recapture the warmth and charm of a true traditional British pub. This opening represents the culmination of a dedicated effort to restore a simple, community-focused pub experience that the owners felt had been missing from Moseley.
Gary McDonnell, joint owner of Kennedy's, shared the pub's straightforward philosophy: "From day one, our goal has been simple: to bring back the type of pub you can pop into any day of the week and feel right at home," he said. "Good beer, good food, good company—nothing gimmicky, just a classic pub that anyone can go into with the added bonus of live sports and music."
Sports, Screens, and Garden Upgrades
For sports enthusiasts, Kennedy's is set to become a premier destination. The pub has been fitted with an array of screens to show live sport seven days a week. Fans can look forward to comprehensive coverage of major events, including:

For the biggest matches and fights, a giant outdoor garden screen will be available, allowing guests to enjoy the action in the fresh air. The outdoor space itself has received a significant upgrade, now featuring a new heated marquee to ensure the garden is a comfortable, year-round retreat regardless of the famous Birmingham weather.

Beyond sport, the pub will host regular live music on weekends, showcasing a mix of local performers and established acts. The opening weekend set the tone with live sets from Lynne and the Encore and Push to Play. For a different kind of entertainment, speed quizzing is planned for Sundays.
