Organisers of the Lincolnshire Wolds Outdoor Festival have issued an open call for community groups, businesses, and organisations to help shape the 2026 event. The festival, which celebrates the diverse outdoor experiences available across the Lincolnshire Wolds, is scheduled to run from Saturday, 16 May to Sunday, 31 May 2026.
A Celebration of Landscape and Wellbeing
The festival aims to inspire residents and visitors to explore the historic and tranquil landscapes of the Lincolnshire Wolds, a region designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). By participating, providers can help raise the profile of the area, support the local economy, and encourage mental and physical wellbeing through accessible outdoor experiences. The initiative strongly champions environmentally sensitive and sustainable practices.
Councillor Adam Grist, portfolio holder for Market Towns and the Rural Economy at East Lindsey District Council, endorsed the festival: “The Lincolnshire Wolds Outdoor Festival is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the beauty and diversity of our area while supporting local businesses and encouraging people to get active.” He added, “We want as many organisations as possible to get involved and help make this event a real celebration of everything the Wolds has to offer.”
Building a Diverse Programme
Planners are curating a varied programme that could feature everything from cycling, fishing, and golf to bushcraft, water sports, and gliding. There is also expressed interest in incorporating unique sessions such as wellness yoga, archery, and axe throwing to encourage participants to try new activities. Organisers are keen to hear from businesses that can deliver distinctive experiences.
The festival will launch with a dedicated activity day in Horncastle on Saturday, 16 May, with the main programme of events running from 17 to 31 May. To maximise accessibility, organisers encourage providers to offer sessions that are free to attend or available at a reduced rate.
How to Get Involved
Interested parties must meet specific criteria to participate, including holding Public Liability Insurance of at least £5 million, completing a risk assessment, and arranging appropriate first aid cover. Optional training and support will be available for providers.
The festival is a collaborative effort organised by Love Lincolnshire Wolds alongside key partners including East Lindsey District Council, West Lindsey District Council, Lincolnshire County Council, and several local estates and networks. Promotion will be robust, featuring a dedicated website, active social media channels, and a widely distributed printed programme.
Those wishing to be part of the 2026 festival must act promptly. The deadline for submissions is Friday, 9 January 2026. Applications can be made via the online registration form at the festival's website.
