Nando's Announces New Kidderminster Restaurant Opening in Town Centre
Nando's to Open New Restaurant in Kidderminster

Kidderminster town centre is set to welcome a significant new dining addition, with the global restaurant chain Nando's confirming plans to open a new outlet later this year. The establishment will be situated on the popular Riverside Walk, positioning it near other local favourites such as Tappeto Lounge, Wall2Wall, and Coffee #1.

Expanding the Global Brand in Worcestershire

Renowned for its distinctive Portuguese flame-grilled peri-peri chicken and its casual, vibrant dining atmosphere, Nando's operates an extensive network of over 1,200 restaurants across thirty countries worldwide. This new venture in Kidderminster represents a strategic part of the brand's ongoing national expansion within the UK market.

Council Leaders Hail Regeneration Milestone

The opening is contingent upon the finalisation of a lease agreement with the development owner, Wyre Forest District Council. Council leaders have expressed considerable enthusiasm for the project, viewing it as a tangible result of recent investment and regeneration efforts.

Councillor Marcus Hart, Leader of Wyre Forest District Council, commented: "We are delighted that Nando's has selected Kidderminster for its expansion. Their commitment is a strong signal that the nearly £40 million of government investment in our town is yielding positive outcomes, attracting major national brands and injecting fresh vitality into the heart of our community."

He added: "Nando's is a crucial component of our vision to develop a dynamic destination town centre that attracts visitors from morning through to evening. This complements other recent developments, including The Piano Building opposite Riverside Walk, which provides premium office and food & beverage space, and the transformed Kidderminster Town Hall, which reopened last year as a cutting-edge performance venue following a multi-million-pound refurbishment."

Boosting Local Economy and Social Hub

Councillor Dan Morehead, the Council's Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration, Planning and the Green Agenda, also welcomed the news. "We extend a warm welcome to the Nando's team and wish them every success in Kidderminster," he said. "The new Nando's at Riverside Walk will substantially enhance the choices available for both residents and visitors looking to socialise and enjoy themselves in town, supported by convenient car parking and other local attractions."

This announcement underscores a period of sustained growth and revitalisation for Kidderminster, with the arrival of a well-known high-street brand expected to further stimulate footfall and economic activity in the town centre.
