Snobs Owner Plans Irish Bar with Rooftop Terrace on Broad Street

The owners of Snobs have submitted plans to transform the former Players nightclub on Birmingham's Broad Street into a new Irish bar with a rooftop space. The £2.5 million venue, located at 240 Broad Street, will replace the nightclub that closed in 2022 after falling victim to the pandemic.

Plans for a Rooftop Terrace

Planning documents reveal proposals for a retractable canopy roof to create additional outdoor space. The multi-use facility will incorporate indoor and outdoor areas for daytime and evening hospitality. It will feature sports, live music, DJs, and entertainment across multiple zones.

Investment and Timeline

Snobs owner Wayne Tracey said the venue will be “best in class” and provide “a new and unique experience in and around Broad Street.” The project represents a £4 million investment over 24 months. “We’re very excited to deliver a new space for Birmingham,” Tracey added.

The development will be completed in phases, starting with the street-fronted Irish bar. The venue aims to revitalise the Broad Street area, which has seen several closures in recent years.
