In February, the pub announced it would remain open following the sudden and untimely passing of Sharon Quinlan. At that time, Wayne Quinlan stated he would take stock of the pub's long-term future while continuing operations.
However, on Monday, April 20, Wayne took to social media to confirm the permanent closure of The Kings Head. In an emotional statement, he explained that following his sister's death last month, he had made the difficult decision to take early retirement and close the pub immediately.

The Kings Head's social media post expressed deep gratitude to customers and staff: "Owning and running The Kings Head Pub has been a pleasure and a fundamental part of our family. Over the years, it has been far more than just a place of business."
