Paramount Structures Limited, the Gloucestershire-headquartered engineering consultancy behind major projects for Center Parcs, Lidl, and Premier Inn, has entered administration. The company appointed John Hedger of Seneca on July 20, 2026, according to a notice on the Gazette.
Company background
Founded in 2008, Paramount Structures provided structural engineering and design services from six UK offices in Moreton-in-Marsh, Edinburgh, Corby, Bournemouth, Chichester, and Lisburn in Northern Ireland. The award-winning firm worked on multimillion-pound schemes including a new music facility for Wells Cathedral School, a Center Parcs forest resort in Ireland, and a student accommodation block for Exeter University.
Key projects and operations
Domestic projects included the structural design of a sailing club for Christian Youth Enterprises and a Yoo Lakes private estate in the Cotswolds. "Our team provides everything from comprehensive design drawings to skilled and environmentally friendly engineering," the company stated on its website. "We truly believe that if it can be drawn, it can be engineered to work."
Directors include Gordy Nelson (chief executive), Emma Nelson (managing director), and Mark Kirk (technical director). The firm was a member of the Structural Timber Association and the Concrete Society.
Financial snapshot
According to the latest available accounts for the year ended December 2024, Paramount had assets of £769,230 and net liabilities of £81,947. Capital and reserves stood at £47,227 – a sharp decline from £162,699 in 2023. The average number of employees during that period was 12.
Significantly, on July 22, just two days after the administration appointment, a satisfaction of charge in full was filed at Companies House, indicating an outstanding debt had been settled.
Recent activity and uncertainty
Just two months before the administration, Paramount was recruiting for an experienced structural engineer based in Scotland, according to LinkedIn. However, the company had not posted on Facebook or Instagram since October 2025.
The reasons for the administration remain unclear, and it is not yet known whether the business will close. Business Live has contacted both the administrators and Paramount for comment.
