Nationwide launches new fixed rate ISAs and bonds

Nationwide has introduced a new range of Fixed Rate Cash ISAs and Fixed Rate Bonds with increased rates, effective from Friday 14 August. The building society, which operates branches across Birmingham, has updated its savings portfolio to offer higher returns on fixed-term products.

New ISA and bond rates unveiled

The new Fixed Rate Cash ISAs include a 1 Year Fixed Rate Cash ISA at 4.40% AER/tax-free (fixed), a 2 Year Fixed Rate Cash ISA at 4.50% AER/tax-free (fixed), and a 3 Year Fixed Rate Cash ISA at 4.65% AER/tax-free (fixed). A 5 Year Fixed Rate Cash ISA is also available at 4.70% AER/tax-free (fixed).

For Fixed Rate Bonds, Nationwide has introduced a 1 Year Fixed Rate Branch Bond at 4.25% AER/gross a year (fixed), a 2 Year Fixed Rate Branch Bond at 4.30% AER/gross a year (fixed), and a 3 Year Fixed Rate Branch Bond at 4.60% AER/gross a year (fixed). The range also includes a 5 Year Fixed Rate Branch Bond at 4.65% AER/gross a year (fixed).

Online bond options and branch promise

Online savers are not left out, with a 1 Year Fixed Rate Online Bond at 4.25% AER/gross a year (fixed), a 2 Year Fixed Rate Online Bond at 4.30% AER/gross a year (fixed), a 3 Year Fixed Rate Online Bond at 4.60% AER/gross a year (fixed), and a 5 Year Fixed Rate Online Bond at 4.65% AER/gross a year (fixed).

Richard Stocker, Nationwide’s Head of Savings, said: “We’re pleased to launch new higher rates on our fixed rate cash ISAs and bonds, while continuing to ensure customers can access the same rates whether they open their account online or in branch. With the UK’s largest branch network, backed by our Branch Promise, we’re committed to ensuring customers who prefer face-to-face service aren’t disadvantaged.”

Commitment to branch customers

Stocker added: “Many of our branch-accessible products are among the highest-paying available from a major high street provider, reflecting our commitment to combining choice, value and support for savers.”

The launch follows a recent report that a new school rule from September under Andy Burnham has left half of parents unaware, but Nationwide’s focus remains on providing competitive savings options. The new rates are now available to customers, with the building society highlighting its branch network as a key advantage for those who prefer in-person service.
