Aston Villa defender Sil Swinkels is expected to complete a permanent transfer to Sheffield Wednesday, with the 22-year-old set to undergo a medical once the League One club and Villa finalize an agreement.
Swinkels' Loan Career
Swinkels joined Villa's youth ranks from Vitesse and has since had three loan spells in the English Football League. After stints at Bristol Rovers and Exeter City, the centre-back impressed at Chesterfield during the second half of last season, starting all 22 matches he was available for. However, Chesterfield were defeated by Notts County in the League Two play-off semi-finals.
Other Villa Youngsters Head to France
Meanwhile, Kadan Young, Mohamed Kone, and Zepiqueno Redmond are all set to join FC Annecy on loan for the season. Triston Rowe and Travis Patterson both played at the Ligue 2 club last term, gaining valuable experience.
