My Property Box Acquires 16th Firm: Clarke Holland Bolsters North East Portfolio
My Property Box acquires Clarke Holland estate agency

The acquisitive North East estate agency group, My Property Box, has continued its expansion drive by purchasing its sixteenth business in just seven years.

Strategic Acquisition Strengthens Regional Presence

The latest move sees the group take over family-run Clarke Holland, an estate agency based in Ashington, Northumberland. The deal, for an undisclosed sum, significantly bolsters My Property Box's portfolio across the North East, adding Clarke Holland's established sales, lettings, and rental services to its operations.

This acquisition follows closely on the heels of other recent purchases by the group, including Ready to Rent in County Durham and Seaham-based Newton Assets. The buying spree has been fuelled by a multimillion-pound investment from BGF secured last year, which is underpinning the company's aggressive 'buy-and-build' strategy.

Leadership Expansion and Strategic Vision

Founder and CEO Ben Quaintrell highlighted the strategic importance of the deal. He stated that the acquisition further solidifies the group's presence across Northumberland and Tyne & Wear and aligns with its ambition to grow its residential lettings footprint proactively across the region.

In a parallel development signalling its growth phase, My Property Box has also expanded its senior leadership team. The group has appointed Will Maddock as its first chief finance officer, bringing the financial function in-house for the first time. Maddock joins from the Operam Education Group in Manchester, where he spent over seven years on the board and was instrumental in scaling that business through multiple acquisitions.

Looking to the Future

Paul Baldry, the owner of Clarke Holland, decided to sell the business, which was incorporated in 2007, to focus on his personal property portfolio and other interests. His former clients will now be integrated into the My Property Box network.

New CFO Will Maddock expressed his enthusiasm for joining at a pivotal time, citing the company's impressive acquisition track record. He emphasised his focus on ensuring the financial strength and systems are in place to support the group's long-term development and success.

With a strengthened leadership team and continued backing from BGF, My Property Box appears poised to continue its consolidation strategy within the North East and North Yorkshire property markets.
