Aldi has been confirmed as the UK's cheapest supermarket for July 2026 by consumer champion Which?, marking its ninth consecutive month at the top. To celebrate, the discount retailer is offering shoppers the chance to win £100 Aldi vouchers, with 10 winners selected.
Which? Analysis Confirms Aldi's Price Leadership
The latest independent analysis from Which? compared a basket of 93 popular grocery items across major UK supermarkets. Aldi's basket cost just £158.05, undercutting competitors by significant margins. Shoppers could save up to £30.40 compared to Tesco, £29.81 compared to Sainsbury's (even when loyalty discounts are applied), and a substantial £68.90 compared to Waitrose.
This achievement extends Aldi's winning streak throughout 2026, with a 100% success rate so far this year. The nine-month run dates back to November 2025, and Aldi was also named Which?'s Cheapest Supermarket of the Year for 2025, alongside its recent recognition as 'Best Value Brand of the Year'.
