Aldi confirms 10 new UK store locations in £900m expansion

Aldi has confirmed that 10 towns across the UK will receive new stores as part of a £900 million rollout scheduled for next year. The announcement forms part of the supermarket’s previously stated plan to open 40 new branches nationwide.

Locations revealed for new Aldi stores

The full list of locations set for new Aldi stores includes Angel in North London, Bridgend in South Wales, Clapham in South London, Exmouth in Devon, Halifax in West Yorkshire, Haywards Heath in West Sussex, Ivybridge in Devon, Kew in South West London, Ryde on the Isle of Wight, and Winnersh in Berkshire.

Jonathan Neale, Managing Director of National Real Estate at Aldi UK, said the brand was “continuing to invest” as it progresses towards its “long-term ambition of 1,500 Aldi stores”. He added: “We’re excited to take the next step in our expansion plans and look forward to welcoming customers through the doors of these new stores in the years ahead.”

Expansion follows record annual results

The announcement follows Aldi’s annual trading update earlier this week, when it outlined further investment in new stores, continued price cuts and more long-term agreements with British suppliers. The supermarket, which currently has 1,092 stores, will open or relocate nearly 30 stores over the next 10 weeks, bringing affordable groceries to even more communities.

The news coincides with the supermarket’s latest annual results, which saw turnover increase 5 per cent to a record £19bn in the 12 months to 31 December 2025. Latest industry figures estimate its share of the UK grocery market at 10.6 per cent.

Price cuts and market position

Aldi – ranked the UK’s cheapest supermarket for the past five years and the only one whose prices are dropping year-on-year – said sales were being driven by more customers buying more products in more stores, thanks to its ‘relentless focus on simple, everyday low prices’.

Aldi also reaffirmed its commitment to continue cutting prices across its range in the build-up to Christmas. So far this year, Aldi has invested £340m in reducing prices on over 1,000 products, including orange juice, butter, fresh meat and frozen fish.
