Aldi's 70p Festive Bake Returns, Rivaling Greggs' Christmas Classic
Aldi's 70p Festive Bake is back, rivalling Greggs

Aldi's Festive Bake Returns for Christmas

The highly anticipated Aldi Festive Bake has made its triumphant return to supermarket shelves, just as Greggs begins serving its own version once again. This seasonal favourite arrives at the perfect time for shoppers looking for a tasty and affordable Christmas treat.

A Budget-Friendly Festive Feast

Aldi's offering provides a compelling alternative for cost-conscious consumers. The grocer's pastry, filled with chicken, Beechwood smoked bacon, and cranberries in a sage and onion sauce, is priced at £1.39 for a pack of two. This works out to approximately 70p per pasty, making it more than half the cost of the Greggs equivalent.

However, there is one key difference for impatient shoppers. The Aldi bake is a frozen product that requires 27 minutes to heat up, whereas the Greggs version is ready to eat immediately. In terms of contents, the two pasties are remarkably similar, with Greggs also featuring chicken, bacon, sage, and onion, all bound together by a creamy sage and cranberry sauce.

Shopper Reaction and Other Festive Finds

While the Festive Bake is a perennial favourite during the Christmas period, some customers have expressed disappointment that the price has increased by 10p compared to last year. Despite this slight hike, it remains a significantly cheaper option than its high-street rival.

The Festive Bake is not the only exciting product making a comeback at Aldi this year. Due to unprecedented demand, the supermarket has also reintroduced its popular Christmas baubles. Shoppers can currently purchase a pack of two for £3.99.

Aldi stated, "Aldi fans can pick them up at just £3.99 for a pack of two, proving that festive style doesn’t have to come with a hefty price tag. Perfect for gifting, Secret Santas, or giving trees a cheeky personality boost, these decorations bring joy to every branch – and every budget."

The bauble designs for this year include a football, a retro robot, a classic camera, a toy car, a roller skate, and a vintage boom box. Aldi has warned that these decorations are available only while stocks last, urging customers to act quickly if they want to secure them before the festive season is in full swing.
