Asda has significantly expanded its on-demand food delivery service by adding over 300 superstores to the Deliveroo platform, bringing the total number of participating stores to more than 850. The move is timed to coincide with the 2026 FIFA World Cup, allowing shoppers to order groceries until 11pm to accommodate late-night matches.
Extended Hours for World Cup Fans
The expanded service enables customers to order through the Deliveroo app until 11pm, a shift driven by the North American championship's later kick-off times. Tonight's match between England and Ghana, for example, kicks off at 9:00pm BST (4pm local time in Boston) and will be broadcast on BBC One, BBC iPlayer, and the BBC Sport website. Both teams won their opening matches—England beat Croatia 4-2, Ghana defeated Panama 1-0—making this a crucial Group L clash.
Executive Comments on Expansion
Barney Burgess, Vice President for Online Grocery at Asda, stated: “Our ability to offer customers a broad and ever‑growing range of services is a real strength for Asda, and expanding our partnership with Deliveroo builds on that. We’re focused on making shopping as convenient as possible, and by bringing Deliveroo to even more stores, customers can enjoy great Asda products and value delivered to their doorstep.”
Suzy McClintock, VP Consumer at Deliveroo, added: “Our expansion with Asda is a significant milestone in our continued mission to offer unmatched selection and great value groceries, delivered directly to your door. Now covering more than 850 stores and an increased range of over 10,000 products, we are bringing the ultimate convenience to more households across the UK.”
Product Range and Deals
Asda customers nationwide can now access same-day delivery on more than 10,000 products through the Deliveroo app. Throughout the World Cup tournament, shoppers can take advantage of rolling deals, including 2 for £10 on Exceptional by Asda pizzas and beer deals. The service aims to help fans stay stocked up for late-night viewing parties.
