Aston Villa have been given three transfer green lights for a £112m spending spree, as Unai Emery's side look to capitalize on their Europa League triumph and Champions League qualification. The club has been relatively quiet in the transfer window, with only Modou Keba Cisse arriving for £4m, while departures include Donyell Malen, Enzo Barrenechea, Youri Tielemans, and Lewis Dobbin. However, with £75m raised from player sales and a strong financial position, Villa are poised to make significant moves.
Johan Manzambi - £50m
Aston Villa are set to beat Newcastle United to the signing of Johan Manzambi, a 20-year-old Freiburg midfielder who impressed at the World Cup with three goals and two assists for Switzerland before an injury sidelined him. According to The Athletic, the deal would exceed £50m. Manzambi scored five goals and registered five assists in 27 Bundesliga appearances last season.
Lucas Bergvall - £45m
To fill the gap left by Youri Tielemans, Villa are targeting Tottenham's Lucas Bergvall. The 20-year-old Swedish midfielder had a disjointed season at Spurs, starting only 11 Premier League games and missing two months due to an ankle injury. According to TEAMtalk, Emery's side are stepping up interest, and Bergvall is open to leaving north London for Champions League football. Tottenham have placed a £45m price tag on him, as per The Standard.
Pervis Estupinan - £17m
With Lucas Digne linked to Paris Saint-Germain, Villa are targeting AC Milan's Pervis Estupinan as a left-back option. The 28-year-old, formerly of Brighton, has been set a €20m (£17m) price tag by Milan. Estupinan started as first choice at Milan but was later usurped by Davide Bartesaghi.
A combined expenditure of approximately £112m would be required to bring the trio to Villa Park. This spending would position the club well to compete on multiple fronts, including the Champions League, Premier League, and domestic cups.
