Aston Villa are reportedly targeting AC Milan left-back Pervis Estupinan as a potential replacement for Lucas Digne, who is expected to leave the club this summer. The Ecuador international, who turned 28 earlier this year, has spent just one season in Serie A and could now be set for a swift return to the Premier League.
Digne's Expected Departure
While it remains unclear what fee Villa are negotiating with Milan, Digne is expected to join Paris Saint-Germain once his release clause, understood to be worth less than £10 million, is activated. The French left-back has been with Villa since January 2022 and has made over 50 appearances for the club.
Estupinan's Move to Milan
Estupinan joined the Italian giants last summer in a deal worth an initial £17 million plus add-ons, signing a contract until 2030. He started 13 Serie A matches last season and made 22 appearances across all competitions as Milan finished fifth in the league. During his time at Brighton, the left-back made 104 appearances and registered 14 assists.
Potential Impact for Villa
If the transfer goes through, Estupinan would bring Premier League experience and attacking prowess to Villa's defense. His ability to contribute in the final third could be a valuable asset for manager Unai Emery's side as they look to build on a successful season.
