The 14 players Birmingham City decided to release at the end of last season will become free agents tomorrow (July 1). Jonathan Panzo was the only senior player released and his six-month contract expires today. The 25-year-old defender made nine appearances for Blues and will hope to secure another Championship move this summer.
Young professionals also depart
Young professionals Yusuf Ahmed, Godfred Boakye, Trae Briscoe, O’Shea Ellis, Cameron Eubank, Tommy Fogarty, Daniel Isichei, Cody Pennington, Frank Tattum, Szymon Terenowicz, Zachary Willis, Ben Wodskou and George Wynne also come off Blues’ books today.
Fogarty and Eubank find new clubs
Fogarty, who finished last season on loan at Morecambe, has secured a move to National League side Tamworth. The Lambs finished 11th in the National League last season and have just been bought by an American-backed consortium. Eubank has joined local non-league side Leamington where he will link up with ex-Blues academy coach Callum Ingram, now a first team coach with the Brakes.
Wynne heads to the United States
Wynne, who appeared on Blues’ bench once last season, had agreed to re-sign for Bromsgrove Sporting after a successful loan but the midfielder has now decided to head to the United States to take up a scholarship.
Blues add only one new signing so far
Blues have only added Colombian midfielder Jhon Solis to their squad so far and his £6million transfer from Girona will officially go through tomorrow.
