Cube Hotel and Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Close Suddenly

The Cube Hotel and Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill in Birmingham city centre have ceased trading 'with immediate effect', according to a notice addressed to customers on June 23. A sign outside the hotel and skyline restaurant, which have been based at The Cube for fifteen years, confirmed the sudden closure of both sites.

Notice to Customers

The notice read: 'We regret to inform you that, with immediate effect, The Cube Hotel and Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill Birmingham have ceased trading and are now closed. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience and disappointment this may cause.' Anyone with queries was directed to email thecubehotel@quantuma.com.

The notice added: 'The affairs, business and property of MSHA Global Investments Limited (trading as The Cube Hotel) are managed by the joint administrators who act as agents of the company and contract without personal liability.'

Background of the Venues

The British steakhouse, operating under the Marco Pierre White brand following a licensing agreement with the celebrity chef, was known for its 360-degree panoramic views of Birmingham from the 25th floor. It had been a long-standing fixture alongside the 52-bedroom hotel at The Cube, located within the Mailbox district.

Recent Developments

Earlier this year, Insider Media reported that Knight Frank was appointed to sell the hotel, including the franchised restaurant, on behalf of joint administrators Richard Easterby and Nick Simmonds of Quantuma Advisory Ltd. A source said that staff at the bar and grill were informed of the sudden closure this week. The restaurant was no longer taking bookings on its website as of the afternoon of June 23.

Future of the Site

It remains unclear what will happen next with the vacant floors at The Cube, with no indication whether new operators will take over the hotel or restaurant space. BirminghamLive has contacted The Cube and the restaurant's press office for comment.
