Players in the National Lottery Lotto draw on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, have the chance to win a £4.3 million jackpot under the new-style draw format.
Two Rounds, Two Chances to Win
Each Wednesday and Saturday Lotto draw now features two rounds, giving players two opportunities to win a prize with every line of numbers played. A spokesperson for the National Lottery explained: "That means two chances of winning a prize with every line of numbers you play, for the same price."
The spokesperson added: "And best of all, more than double the number of millionaires are expected to be made."
Jackpot Sharing and Odds
Matching all six numbers in either round will result in a jackpot win. However, the jackpot is shared across both rounds, meaning that while there is a greater chance of winning, there is also a greater chance of having to share the prize. The National Lottery states the change will "make more winners and millionaires than before."
