Napoli have reportedly opened talks with Chelsea over a move for forward Nicolas Jackson, who is also a transfer target for Aston Villa, according to Sky Italy.
Villa's interest in Jackson
The 25-year-old Senegal international attracted interest from Aston Villa earlier this summer amid doubts over the future of Ollie Watkins. Villa have offered Watkins a new contract until 2030 but cannot match the wages that Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal can offer.
Villa have turned down three offers for Watkins and have communicated their preference to keep him to both Al-Hilal and the player. However, with his future remaining unclear, Jackson would be an obvious target should Villa need to replace Watkins.
Napoli's move for the Chelsea forward
Sky Italy is now reporting that Napoli have opened talks with Chelsea over a move for Jackson. The Serie A club would need to sell a player first to sign Jackson, even if they reach an agreement with Chelsea over his transfer.
Noa Lang has been linked with a move away from Napoli, while the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Joshua Zirkzee are also options for the Italian club this summer.
Jackson's market value
Jackson has attracted interest from several clubs heading into the final days of the summer transfer window. The forward joined Chelsea from Villarreal in 2023 and has been a regular in the squad.
