Sandwich Sandwich to Give Away 1,000 Sarnies at London Grab-and-Go Launch
Sandwich chain to give away 1,000 sarnies at new London store

The popular sandwich chain Sandwich Sandwich has announced ambitious plans to mark the launch of its first-ever dedicated grab-and-go store in London, including a giveaway of 1,000 free sandwiches to customers on opening day.

From Bristol Viral Sensation to London Expansion

Founded roughly 15 years ago in Bristol by former restaurateur Nick Kleiner, Sandwich Sandwich first gained fame when images of its generously sized sandwiches spread across social media in 2024. The family-run business has seen rapid growth, opening its third London branch on Tottenham Court Road in September 2025 and announcing a franchise deal for Dubai in October of the same year.

The new outlet at 1 Broadgate will be its fourth London location in just over two years, signalling a significant push into the capital's competitive food-to-go market.

A New Grab-and-Go Concept for the City

This pioneering store represents an 18-month development project for the chain. It involved designing custom packaging and investing in new refrigerated vans to ensure quality. The branch will offer the brand's full menu, prepared fresh each morning and boxed for convenience, alongside coffee and on-site baked pastries like sausage rolls and scotch eggs.

Nick Kleiner criticised the lack of creativity in pre-packaged food, stating: "This store is our response to that. Broadgate allows us to show that grab-and-go and food to go in general, can still be genuinely exciting and creative."

Strategic Move Towards Transport Hubs

Positioned in one of London's busiest commercial districts, the grab-and-go format is a strategic step. The company sees it as bringing them closer to a long-held goal of expanding into transport hubs like major train stations and airports in the future.

While the exact opening date in early 2026 is still to be confirmed, the promise of 1,000 free sandwiches is set to create a major buzz. Kleiner added: "Opening in the Broadgate development marks an exciting new chapter... It's identical to the Sandwich Sandwich our customers love us for; fast, focused, yet still very much us, offering generosity, quality and now speed!"

This move underscores the chain's evolution, directly shaped around meeting the demands of time-pressed city workers without compromising on the quality that built its loyal fan base.
