Santander £100 Supermarket Voucher for New Customers from December 14
Santander £100 Supermarket Voucher for New Customers

Santander has confirmed that new customers opening an Edge, Edge Up or Everyday Current Account can receive a £100 supermarket gift card. The offer applies to accounts opened with the high street bank, which has branches in Birmingham, and requires customers to spend £200 per month for three months across at least four transactions per month.

Eligibility and Spending Requirements

The deal is available exclusively to new Santander customers, meaning applicants must not currently hold any products with the bank. Once the account is opened and the debit card is active, customers need to spend £200 on the card, either in-store or online, in each of September, October and November 2026. This monthly spend must be split over four or more transactions and must be on groceries, as determined by Merchant Category Codes (MCCs).

Santander, which competes with NatWest, Nationwide, HSBC UK, Lloyds, Barclays and other major banks, has outlined that the £200 monthly grocery spend must qualify under the applicable MCCs. The voucher is limited to one per person, with no switching required. However, anyone who has already benefited from a VoucherSent gift card offer in the past 12 months is not eligible.

Supermarkets and Claim Process

The supermarket vouchers can be redeemed at ten major retailers: Tesco, Sainsbury's, ASDA, Morrisons, Waitrose, Aldi, Lidl, M&S Food, Iceland and Londis. Emails containing instructions for claiming the gift card will be sent out in the three weeks starting from 14 December 2026. Recipients must claim their gift card within 30 days of receiving the email.

Santander has also detailed the additional benefits of its Edge and Edge Up accounts. The Edge Current Account offers 1% cashback on selected household bills, up to £10 per month, and 1% cashback on supermarket and travel spending, also up to £10 per month. It also provides access to the high-interest Edge Saver account and allows card use abroad with no extra fees.

Account Features and Benefits

The Edge Up account, meanwhile, provides 1% cashback on household bills up to £15 per month and 1% on supermarket and travel spending up to £15 per month. It also pays interest on balances up to £25,000 and offers fee-free card use abroad. These features are designed to complement the supermarket voucher offer for new customers.

The offer represents a tangible cost-of-living boost for households, particularly those who regularly shop at the participating supermarkets. With the £100 voucher available after meeting the spending criteria, customers can offset some of their grocery expenses. The claim window, starting mid-December, gives successful applicants a clear timeline to secure their gift card.
