Scotch Corner Designer Village Set for 2027 Opening
A major new designer outlet village is scheduled to open in the United Kingdom next year, bringing a significant retail boost to the North of England. The Scotch Corner Designer Village, located at the junction of the A1(M) and A66 motorways, will span an impressive 182,500 square feet, making it one of the largest shopping destinations in the region.
Extensive Retail and Dining Offerings
The development, with a total investment of £169 million, will feature 73 shops alongside a variety of restaurants and cafes. According to reports, 66 percent of the retail space has already been secured by numerous high-profile brands. Confirmed tenants include Guess, Superdry, Monsoon, Jack & Jones, Boss, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Levi’s, Skechers, and Clarks.
In addition to fashion retailers, the outlet will host several well-known food establishments. Pizza Express, Pret A Manger, and Slim Chickens are set to join existing eateries such as Wagamama and Five Guys, providing a comprehensive shopping and dining experience for visitors.
Economic Impact and Community Enthusiasm
The Scotch Corner Designer Village is expected to attract millions of shoppers annually, leveraging its strategic location where a high volume of vehicle traffic passes through the junction each year. The development will also generate approximately 1,300 employment opportunities once fully operational, offering a substantial boost to the local economy.
Sarah Hodkinson, leasing director for Scotch Corner Designer Village, expressed excitement about the project, stating, “We are thrilled with the enthusiasm of both major retail brands and the local community. Dozens of high-profile brands have signed with us. This is a vote of confidence and a superb, good news story for the region and the whole of the North of England.”
Scheduled to open in spring 2027, this designer outlet village represents a significant investment in retail infrastructure, promising to enhance the shopping landscape and provide new job prospects in the area.
