Tesco has issued an urgent alert to its Clubcard members, advising them to check their accounts for any unspent vouchers that are due to expire at the end of the month. A staggering £16.5 million-worth of vouchers are set to become invalid after the November 30 deadline.
How to Check and Use Your Vouchers
Shoppers can easily see which vouchers are nearing their expiry by logging into the Tesco Clubcard website and navigating to the 'Vouchers' section within their account. The same check can be performed via the official Tesco app. Once located, the vouchers can be spent both in-store and online by using the unique code provided.
For every £1 spent in-store, members earn one point when they scan their Clubcard or app. Motorists also benefit, earning one point for every two litres of fuel purchased. These points are valuable, with each one worth 1p. This means that collecting 100 points gives you £1 to spend in-store, or £2 to spend with a Reward Partner.
Maximise Your Voucher Value
The supermarket is encouraging customers to make the most of their vouchers before they lapse. Shama Wilson, Tesco's Group Membership and Loyalty Director, stated: “We don’t want anyone to miss out on making the most of their Tesco Clubcard Vouchers, and with some great new offers with Clubcard Rewards, this really is a great time to use those vouchers up.”
There are several attractive ways to use them. Their value can be doubled when spent with over 100 Reward Partners, which include big names like Disney+, Pizza Express, easyJet, and Cineworld. Furthermore, vouchers can be used to save money on petrol.
Current promotions offer even greater value. The Tesco Tuesdays deal with Cineworld allows members to get cinema tickets for Tuesday screenings for just £5 (or £2.50 in Clubcard Vouchers). There is also a new triple-value offer with PizzaExpress, where £10 in vouchers gets you £30 off your meal.
What If You're Not Ready to Spend?
If your vouchers are close to expiring but you don't have an immediate use for them, there is a way to extend their life. By making a small purchase on the Tesco Clubcard Rewards page, the remaining balance will be returned to your Clubcard account as points.
You can then manually exchange these points for new vouchers, or wait for them to be automatically converted with your next statement. Crucially, the new vouchers will be valid for another two years, giving you until November 2027 to spend them.
