David Wilson Homes has donated £3,000 to Encompass, a Northamptonshire charity providing essential services to people facing food poverty, addiction, and homelessness. The funding will help the charity continue its work across the county, which includes operating three foodbanks, three supported housing facilities, and a specialist rehabilitation centre.
Charity's vital services across Northamptonshire
Established in 2005, Encompass supports some of the region's most vulnerable residents through emergency aid, safe shelter, and long-term recovery programmes. The donation comes at a time of growing demand for the charity's community services, ensuring it can continue offering a compassionate safety net, warm meals, and practical support to individuals and families in crisis.
The funding will also support Encompass's work providing practical assistance, advice, and accommodation support to people in crisis situations.
Charity manager welcomes donation
Georgina Henson, Homeless Services Manager at Encompass, expressed gratitude for the contribution. "We were very excited to have been chosen to receive this donation from David Wilson Homes," she said.
"This money means we can help people move on to independent living and help provide household items. We can support people to get to medical appointments, offer a warm safe space for those in need and supply our community café, as well as so much more."
Henson highlighted the importance of prevention-focused approaches, noting that "a new homelessness strategy is looking at prevention rather than acting on crisis and donations like this one from David Wilson Homes will help people not to lose tenancies."
Community Fund scheme and Barratt Redrow Foundation
The donation was made through David Wilson Homes' Community Fund scheme, managed by The Barratt Redrow Foundation, which is run by its parent company, Barratt Redrow. The scheme supports national and local charities across the UK to leave a legacy in communities where the housebuilder operates.
The Barratt Redrow Foundation is celebrating its fifth anniversary in 2026. Since its launch, it has committed £20m to charities and good causes, supported over 2,000 different charities, and is estimated to have directly impacted 100,000 young people each year.
