Tribute to Hermione: Courmacs Legal Raises £20k for Christie
Courmacs Legal Raises £20k in Memory of Hermione

Blackburn law firm Courmacs Legal has paid tribute to its colleague Hermione, of Darwen, who has died at the age of 20. Hermione joined the firm at just 16 and spent four years with them. Colleagues described her as a pleasure to work with, driven far beyond her years, and someone who always had time for everyone and brightened every room she walked into.

On July 26, 2026, the team at Courmacs, along with friends and family, walked 30 miles from The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester to Blackburn. The walk raised money for the hospital that cared for Hermione, and together they reached £14,514 – 145 per cent of their original £10,000 goal.

Additional Donation Boosts Total

Courmacs Legal provided a further donation, bringing the total raised from the walk to £20,000. In place of flowers, Hermione's family have asked that donations go towards raising awareness of SJS/TEN (Stevens-Johnson Syndrome and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis), a rare and serious condition and one of the conditions Hermione faced. Donations can be made at the JustGiving page set up in her name.

Colleagues Remember Hermione

The Courmacs Legal Team said: "Hermione was one of a kind. She was so driven at such a young age, she had time for everyone, and she lit up this firm every single day. We are heartbroken, and we are so proud that our team could do something in her honour. She will be missed by all of us, always."

Hermione's funeral was due to be held in Darwen on Tuesday, August 11. The funds raised will support The Christie and raise awareness of SJS/TEN, ensuring Hermione's legacy continues to help others facing similar health challenges.
