Deal Business Celebrates a Decade of Charity Commitment with Inspiring Art Exhibition
A beloved local business is commemorating ten years of dedicated charitable work through an exciting new initiative, and the community is warmly invited to participate. Frames for You, in collaboration with the recently opened New Street Gallery in Deal, Kent, is marking this significant milestone by organizing a week-long charity art exhibition. Every single penny raised from the event will be donated directly to Martha Trust, an organization that provides essential support for individuals living with profound disabilities.
A Partnership Forged in Generosity
The heartwarming story began back in 2016 when Kerry Banks BEM, the fundraising and events manager at Martha Trust, approached the team at Frames for You. She sought their expertise in framing donated artwork to enhance the charity's fundraising efforts. Since that initial request, the father-and-son duo, Arron and Sam Skirrow, have evolved into passionate and long-term supporters of the charity, demonstrating unwavering commitment over the years.
Now, to honor this remarkable ten-year partnership, they are elevating their support to an entirely new level. For one special week, New Street Gallery will showcase a curated collection of donated artwork, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting Martha Trust. In an act of extraordinary generosity, the gallery will also donate its entire commission from any additional artwork sold during the exhibition period.
Words from the Supporters
Arron Skirrow expressed his heartfelt sentiments, stating, "It is our absolute pleasure to be celebrating 10 years of supporting Martha Trust. We used to support a different charity each year, but what Martha does for its residents is so inspiring that we chose to dedicate our efforts solely to them. Sam and I feel truly honoured to be part of the Martha family."
Exhibition Launch and Highlights
The exhibition will officially launch with a special preview evening on Friday, March 27, from 6pm to 9pm. Attendees will enjoy the first opportunity to view and purchase the artwork while being welcomed with a complimentary glass of prosecco or a non-alcoholic alternative. This creates a perfect setting for an evening of artistic appreciation combined with meaningful philanthropy.
Art enthusiasts can anticipate an impressive and diverse collection featuring works by acclaimed artists. Notable pieces include:
- Evocative works by artist Kate Maguire, inspired by Greenwich, the River Thames, and her Irish heritage.
- Botanical creations from Pat Joyce, who has exhibited at the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show more than twenty times during her distinguished forty-year career.
- A unique historical item: a framed original silk escape map from World War II, offering a rare purchasing opportunity for visitors.
Gratitude and Impact
Kerry Banks BEM shared her appreciation, saying, "We cannot thank Arron and Sam enough for their incredible dedication and support over the past 10 years. This is the first event of its kind for us, and we are so excited to see it come to life. We are also incredibly grateful to the artists and families who have so generously donated their work."
This special exhibition transcends being merely an art event; it represents a genuine chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of others. Every purchase directly supports the residents of Martha Trust, contributing to life-transforming specialist care and support services.
Do not miss this opportunity to view, enjoy, and invest in beautiful artwork while supporting the residents at Martha Trust, all of whom live with profound and multiple disabilities. New Street Gallery is located at 8a New Street in Deal, Kent, providing a new and vibrant art space for the community.
