North Devon Hospice is set to fill Barnstaple with seasonal joy this December by hosting a spectacular free Christmas concert for the entire community.
A Festive Evening of Music and Light
The heartwarming event will take place at Barnstaple Pannier Market on Thursday, December 18, starting at 6pm. Coinciding with the town's final late-night shopping evening before Christmas, the concert promises to be a highlight of the festive calendar.
Attendees can look forward to a fantastic line-up of local musical talent. The stage will feature performances from the Holy Trinity Choir, the hospice's own Carry on Choir, the rousing sea shanties of Scuttlebutt Shanty, and a special performance by soloist Gabby Young.
A Spectacular Light Show and Tribute
Adding a magical dimension to the evening, local specialists Blackbeam Cinematic will create a breathtaking light display. A key feature will be a stunning ‘sky of stars’ projected onto the market's ceiling, designed to fill the space with wonder.
The concert also serves as the culmination of the hospice's annual Light Up a Life Appeal. This initiative allows community members to dedicate a star in memory of a loved one they miss at Christmas.
Georgia Bedgood, Events Manager at North Devon Hospice, shared: "The stars, each carrying the name of someone special, will be hung on two huge Christmas trees inside the Pannier Market. It will be a beautiful sight as we light the trees and see all those stars sparkling in memory."
Community, Celebration, and Remembrance
This is a completely free event, open to everyone. The hospice will be holding a collection, but there is no charge for entry, as the primary goal is to bring the community together.
To keep everyone warm and merry, a variety of delicious seasonal food and drink will be available throughout the evening.
"Barnstaple will be full of festive cheer that night," Georgia continued. "This is a perfect way to make your evening even more special. We’ll celebrate the season and the memories of those we love."
Whether you're finishing your Christmas shopping, looking for a wholesome family outing, or wishing to remember someone special, North Devon Hospice warmly invites you to join them for what promises to be an uplifting and beautiful community celebration.
