Hospice Launches 100k Your Way Challenge for August

St Margaret's Hospice Care has launched its new '100k Your Way' campaign, urging Somerset residents to complete 100 kilometres throughout August. Participants can walk, run, cycle, swim, or paddleboard—any activity counts. The goal is to raise at least £100 per person, funding a visit from a community nurse to provide palliative care at home.

Flexible Challenge for All

The challenge is designed to fit into daily routines, requiring just over 3km per day. It can be done alone, with friends, family, or as a workplace team. Amy Garland, Head of Engagement at St Margaret’s Hospice, said: “You might be looking for a personal challenge, a reason to get outdoors, a fun activity to do with friends, family, or colleagues, or a way to give back to a local charity. This event is for everyone. Every pound raised helps us continue providing compassionate care and support to patients and families across Somerset during some of the hardest times in their lives.”

Fundraising for Vital Care

St Margaret’s Hospice relies on community generosity to fund specialist care for people with life-limiting illnesses. Participants are encouraged to raise a minimum of £100 through sponsorship. For more information or to sign up, visit www.st-margarets-hospice.org.uk/event/100km-your-way/.
