A powerful evening of music, food and community spirit at Paget Rooms raised an incredible £5,000 for charities providing urgent, life-changing support in Gaza. ‘From the Vale, with Love’ was a night of generosity, creativity and connection.
Funds for Gaza
Funds raised will support the Palestinian Doctors Association in Europe, who run the last remaining maternity clinic in Gaza, serving a population of over 2.5 million people. Donations will also go to Prospero World and Restoring Hope, organisations providing prosthetic limbs and vital rehabilitation for amputees in Gaza.
Performances and Entertainment
The event, organised by Caroline Field and volunteers from The Vale for Palestine, featured a rich and varied line-up of performers. Esther delivered an ethereal set, The Brwmys brought foot-stomping fun and infectious energy, and Jonny Forever held the audience in a moment of stillness where, as many said ‘you could hear a pin drop.’ Voya closed the live performances with a magnetic, sexy set that had the entire room up and dancing. Throughout the night, Disco Inferno DJs seamlessly filled the intervals, maintaining a vibrant atmosphere and keeping energy levels high from start to finish.
Food and Merchandise
The food was a real highlight and guests praised the delicious spread of homemade vegan dishes including curries, naans, falafel, tabbouleh, pakoras and an array of cakes. A bustling merch stand featured beautiful handmade Palestinian items, including bags, jewellery boxes and traditional keffiyehs, allowing guests to support the cause while celebrating Palestinian craftsmanship.
Raffle Prizes
The raffle drew particular excitement, boasting an array of generous prizes donated by local businesses and supporters. Highlights included five free pizzas at Rwcola, a reiki voucher, and a top prize of a stay at Charlotte Church’s The Dreaming retreat.
Community Response
Organisers described the night as ‘awe-inspiring’, with an overwhelming sense of solidarity and love in the room. One attendee said: 'Music is such a valuable tool to bring joy, and the acts were incredible at lifting spirits in what globally has been a dark time.'
