A wave of festive cheer is set to sweep across the West Midlands as Birmingham Dogs Home unveils its special 'Santa Paws' Christmas fundraising calendar. The beloved animal charity, which provides care for more than 2000 dogs annually, has organised two magical events designed to raise crucial funds for its homeless canines.
Paws and Presents: The Festive Event Details
The 'Santa Paws and Craft Fayre' will be held on two separate Saturdays, offering families a perfect seasonal day out. The fun begins at the charity's Wolverhampton Centre on Saturday 22nd November, running from 10am until 2pm. The festivities then move to the Birmingham Centre on Saturday 6th December, also from 10am to 2pm.
At the heart of each event is the chance to meet Santa Paws himself, who will be accompanied by his helpful elves. This enchanting experience is open to both children and furry family members, ensuring no one is left out. Visitors will receive special gifts, and a professional digital photograph by Jennifer Jeffries will serve as a lasting memento of the day.
More Than Just Santa: Crafts, Food, and Festive Fun
The experience extends far beyond a meeting with Saint Nick. While the pups and children are enthralled by the main attraction, adults can browse a charming Craft Fayre filled with unique stalls, ideal for finding that perfect Christmas gift.
Younger guests can write their letters to Santa or get creative with hands-on craft activities. To keep energy levels high, a range of refreshments and a delicious food stall will be available throughout the day.
Tickets start from £10 per dog or child, with special family ticket packages also on offer. The charity emphasises that all proceeds go directly towards supporting the dogs in their care, and booking in advance is highly recommended.
A Season of Giving: Further Festive Initiatives
The 'Santa Paws' events are just one part of the charity's broader Christmas campaign. In early December, Birmingham Dogs Home will host a special 'Christmas dinner' for all the dogs in its centres. The public can support this heart-warming initiative by buying a dinner for a homeless dog for just £5.
Furthermore, the charity's popular Boxing Day walk with the Rotary Club of Sutton Coldfield returns on 26th December. Their 'Christmas tags' giving campaign is also back, allowing donors to create a special gift for one of the many dogs awaiting a forever home.
With a combination of festive fun and compassionate giving, Birmingham Dogs Home is ensuring that both the local community and its canine residents have a Christmas to remember.
