Vanguard Self Storage has wrapped up a highly successful season of festive fundraising, with its nationwide network of branches raising a total of £4,182 for various charitable causes. The company's commitment to community spirit shone through a series of heart-warming initiatives designed to support those in need during the Christmas period.
Spreading Cheer from Bath to Salford
The festive efforts kicked off with the team at Vanguard Storage Bath providing crucial support to the volunteer-led charity Christmas For CAMHS. Their mission was to brighten the season for young people in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services wards across the UK. Vanguard Bath facilitated this by offering a free storage unit for gift collection, accepting public donations on-site, and assisting with transport logistics. This vital help ensured that more than 1,500 gifts were prepared for distribution to bring joy to vulnerable young people.
Following this, the company's West London branch signalled the start of the holiday season in a spectacular fashion by installing its traditional giant Father Christmas figure on the roof, a beloved sight that brings smiles to the local community each year.
Christmas Jumper Day and a Record-Breaking Raffle
Staff and customers at all Vanguard branches, including the Bath store, then took part in the annual Christmas Jumper Day in support of Save the Children. Donations were collected via text and card machines, with the company's Head Office pledging to match every pound donated. This generous match-funding policy doubled the impact of the public's contributions, resulting in a final total of £348 for the children's charity.
Meanwhile, Vanguard's Salford self storage branch hosted its much-anticipated Christmas Raffle in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association. The event showcased incredible generosity from local tenants and contractors, who donated an astounding 56 prizes. The prize pool included high-value items such as a laptop, AirPods, a 55-inch 4K television, gift vouchers, gym membership, and seasonal treats. Once again, Head Office matched the total amount raised, leading to an impressive £3,834 donation for the MND Association.
A Culture of Giving Back
Reflecting on the company's charitable ethos, Ben Thilthorpe, Head of Operations for Vanguard Storage, said: "Over the course of the year, we have undertaken many charitable initiatives, from sponsored bike rides to supporting The King's Trust, but in the run-up to Christmas, we are even more proud of our teams and customers who have come together to make the festive season better for others."
The company has expressed its sincere gratitude to every individual who contributed, donated, or participated in making this year's festive initiatives a resounding success. The combined efforts across its UK branches demonstrate how local business action can create a significant national impact for good causes.
