ProStock Vets Raises £1,4k for Wales Air Ambulance with Farm Community
Vets raise £1,400 for Wales Air Ambulance in Carmarthen

A veterinary practice in Carmarthen has shown tremendous community spirit by raising a significant sum for a vital emergency service. ProStock Vets has donated nearly £1,400 to the Wales Air Ambulance following a series of successful fundraising events and physical challenges supported by the local farming community.

A Cycle Ride and Community Events Fuel Fundraising Success

The funds were accumulated through a variety of engaging activities. These included a popular bingo night held at the Carmarthen Mart canteen, a cake sale, and a determined static bike ride. For the cycling challenge, staff members pedalled the equivalent of 133 miles, which is the distance between the practice's various branches. Their dedication was so strong that they proudly exceeded their initial target, continuing to cycle during the mart event even after the goal was met.

Long-Standing Support for a Lifesaving Service

This latest effort continues a longstanding partnership. ProStock Vets, which was formed in 2011, has been a supporter of the all-Wales lifesaving service since 2016. To date, their various initiatives have raised an impressive £5,100 for the charity.

Sarah-Jane Beynon of ProStock Vets commented on the community's role, saying: "We were really pleased to raise money for such a worthy charity and think our views were reflected in the way the farming community supported us with their presence and generosity for both events." She emphasised the charity's importance to their work, adding: "The Wales Air Ambulance is an incredibly important charity, and one we often have dealings with or hear about in our line of work. It’s an imperative service to have in the area."

Every Pound Helps Keep Helicopters Flying

Mike May, regional fundraising manager for Wales Air Ambulance, expressed profound gratitude for the continued support. "A huge thank you to everyone at ProStock Vets in Carmarthen who have once again raised an amazing amount for our lifesaving service," he said. "Since 2016 ProStock Vets has raised over £5,000, which is incredible. They know the value of the Wales Air Ambulance to their clients and to themselves and have been big supporters of us."

He highlighted the critical need for donations, noting: "Our service is purely funded by charitable donations, and we need to raise £13 million every year to keep our helicopters in the air and our rapid response vehicles on the road. Every pound raised by ProStock Vets will help save lives across Wales!"

The successful fundraising drive underscores the powerful impact local businesses and their communities can have in supporting essential emergency services that benefit everyone in Wales.
