Two local organisations are offering families the chance to disconnect from their screens during a free community event this August. Fortuna Female Society and the Brianna Ghey Legacy Project have joined forces to host a day dedicated to wellbeing and mindfulness.
Event Details and Purpose
Organisers created the event to give parents and children a chance to slow down together during the busy summer break. The gathering follows a successful partnership earlier this year that offered specialised support sessions for local mothers and carers. Visitors can try out a variety of practical wellbeing activities held inside a large tipi throughout the day. Sessions will include yoga, tai chi, breathwork, meditation, and relaxing sound baths guided by local experts.
Date, Location, and Booking
Date: Sunday, August 2. Location: St Marie's Church, Lugsdale Road, Widnes, WA8 6DB. Cost: Free, but booking is essential. Younger visitors can enjoy dedicated spaces offering children's yoga and creative family activities before everyone gathers for a joint final session. Free taster treatments such as reflexology, Indian head massage, and hand massages will also be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
