£18,000 Flourishing Communities Grant Opens for North Kesteven Groups
North Kesteven Launches £18k Community Grant Scheme

Local organisations across North Kesteven have been given a significant boost with the launch of a new funding stream designed to enhance community life. The Flourishing Communities Grant, which has a total pot of £18,000, is now accepting applications from groups with projects that will make their areas healthier, safer, and more inclusive.

Funding Details and Project Eligibility

This new initiative is financed through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF). Eligible bodies, which include parish councils, registered charities, social enterprises, community trusts, and not-for-profit sports or theatre groups, can apply for grants of up to £1,500.

The funding is specifically for capital projects, meaning it covers physical assets rather than running costs. Examples of suitable projects include:

  • Purchasing and installing defibrillators
  • Buying new play area or leisure equipment
  • Installing public benches
  • Making accessibility improvements to community facilities

A key requirement for applicants is that they must provide 10% match funding for their project's total cost. Private individuals and commercial businesses are not eligible to apply.

Application Timeline and Recent Success Stories

The window to submit an application is open now and will close on November 30, 2025. All projects that are awarded funding must be fully completed by March 1, 2026.

This scheme builds on the success of previous grants which have already made a tangible difference in the district. Recent awards have enabled parish councils to replace life-saving defibrillators and have helped local sports clubs undertake vital upgrades to their facilities.

Council Commitment to Community Growth

Councillor Richard Wright, Leader of North Kesteven District Council, emphasised the importance of the grant programme. He stated: “Local communities and the people within them are at the heart of everything we do at the Council. We’re proud to offer financial support through the Flourishing Communities Grant and encourage all eligible groups to apply.”

The grant scheme directly supports the Government’s 'Healthy, Safe and Inclusive Communities' theme, which falls under the Communities & Place investment priority of the UKSPF.
