Two respected community figures have been awarded Lifetime Honorary Membership by their local Rotary club following decades of dedicated service. Peter Sprinks and Michael Eaton received the rare honour from Channel Rotary in recognition of their combined 77 years of work across the area.
Lifetime Achievement Recognised
Both men are well-known retired professionals from the local construction and property sectors who spent their lives supporting nearby towns. Peter Sprinks, whose family construction company in Hythe has served the community for more than 100 years, devoted his career to building up the local area. Throughout his time with the club, he was known for stepping forward to offer practical help and wholehearted commitment at every event.
Meanwhile, Michael Eaton served for many years as club secretary before eventually taking on the role of president. As a former chartered building surveyor, he guided many local building projects and helped countless residents through house surveys. He is also widely recognised for his deep passion for local history, particularly in the Folkestone area.

Current Channel Rotary president Courtney Collins presented both men with their honorary membership certificates during a special presentation. He has known both recipients through professional work and local community groups for more than 50 years.
The honour is a testament to their unwavering dedication and the high regard in which they are held by their peers. Their combined service has left an indelible mark on the community, inspiring others to follow in their footsteps.
