Yate Ageing Better Festival draws 500+ to celebrate healthy living

More than 500 people gathered in the sunshine for the annual Yate Ageing Better Festival, a popular community event celebrating healthy and active living. The free event, held at Yate Shopping Centre, offered a day of advice, music, and social connection.

Over 60 stalls and live entertainment

The festival featured more than 60 different stalls hosted by local charities, support services, and community groups. Visitors could gather information on health, volunteering opportunities, hobby clubs, mobility, and personal safety. Local musicians and choirs performed throughout the venue to keep shoppers entertained.

Promoting active and independent living

Organisers said the annual festival aims to help local residents stay active, independent, and connected to their community as they grow older. The official opening was led by local town leaders who welcomed stallholders and members of the public to the bustling shopping area. Visitors spent the day chatting with stallholders to discover the wide variety of activities available across the town.
