A police investigation has been launched following a hit-and-run incident in Burntwood that involved two children. The collision occurred on Chorley Road at approximately 9:30 PM on Saturday, June 13.
Incident Details
Emergency services, including police, paramedics, and firefighters, were dispatched to the scene where three vehicles were involved: two moving cars and one parked vehicle. According to Staffordshire Police, one of the moving cars fled the scene after the collision.
A Staffordshire Police spokesperson stated: "Officers attended along with colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and West Midlands Ambulance Service. Two children were in one of the moving vehicles at the time. One of the children suffered bruising as a result."
Road Closure and Investigation
Officers closed Chorley Road and notified council highways due to fluid on the carriageway. The road remained shut for over an hour, with police leaving the scene at approximately 10:45 PM.
The vehicle that left the scene is described as a grey Peugeot 308, last seen traveling down Rugeley Road, Burntwood. Police are continuing their inquiries.
Ambulance Service Response
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "One ambulance attended the scene. On arrival we discovered five patients, all of whom were assessed for minor injuries and discharged at the scene."
Appeal for Witnesses
Officers are urging anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward. Witnesses should call 101 and quote incident number 843 of June 13.
