Three people have been left with serious injuries following a dramatic single-vehicle crash in Staffordshire that saw a car flip onto its roof.
Emergency Services Rush to Overturned Car
The incident occurred on Stafford Lane in Codsall at approximately 9:55 PM on Thursday, November 13. Emergency services, including police, fire crews, and paramedics from the West Midlands Ambulance Service, were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of the overturned vehicle.
The road was closed for several hours while crews worked to assist the injured and conduct initial investigations. Three occupants of the car were transported to hospital with injuries described by authorities as serious.
Driver Arrested and Released Under Investigation
Staffordshire Police confirmed that a 24-year-old man from Wigan was arrested at the scene. He was taken into custody on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drink and drugs and for causing serious injury by careless or inconsiderate driving.
The force has since stated that the man has been released under investigation while their enquiries into the circumstances of the collision continue.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage
Investigators are now urging members of the public to come forward with any information that could aid their inquiry. A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: “We’re keen to speak to anyone with any information that can help with our investigation, particularly those who may have CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage from the area at the time.”
