Co-op worker threatened with knife in Albrighton robbery

West Mercia Police have launched an appeal for information after a Co-op worker was threatened with a knife during a robbery in Albrighton, Shropshire. The incident took place at the store on the High Street just before 10pm on Friday, August 21.

According to police, a man entered the shop at approximately 9.45pm, approached the cashier with a knife and demanded money from the till. The suspect then took cash and left the area. Fortunately, the cashier was not physically injured during the ordeal.

Police Release CCTV Images

Officers have released CCTV images of a man they believe was in the area at the time of the robbery and who could assist with their enquiries. The images were shared publicly on Saturday, August 22, as part of the force's appeal for witnesses.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "We would like to identify this man as we believe he can help with enquiries into a robbery in Albrighton yesterday (Friday 21 August)."

Appeal for Public Assistance

The police have urged anyone who recognises the man or has any relevant information to come forward. The spokesperson added: "If you know who this man is, or have any information to help identify him, please contact DS Becky Jasper by emailing becky.jasper@westmercia.police.uk."

Ongoing Investigation

West Mercia Police confirmed that no one was physically harmed in the incident and that enquiries are ongoing to trace the individual pictured in the CCTV footage. The force continues to appeal for anyone with information to contact them as they work to progress the investigation.
