West Midlands Police have stepped up patrols in and around Brierley Hill following a shooting that left a man injured during daytime disorder in Dudley. The incident occurred at around 2pm on Saturday, August 15, when two groups clashed near a pub car park in Amblecote Road.

The victim, who has not been named, sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, according to a police spokesperson. Many of those involved fled the scene before officers arrived, but two men, aged 34 and 40, were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and remained in custody on Sunday, August 16, for questioning.

The statement continued: "From there a fight ensued and one man was shot in the leg. He sustained injuries which are not life-threatening. A number of those involved fled but two men, aged 34 and 40, have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. They are currently in custody for questioning."
