Emergency services have been spotted at a Midlands reservoir this morning (Friday, October 9). Part of Stowe Pool in Lichfield has reportedly been cordoned off by Staffordshire Police.

Nearby Nether Stowe School issued a statement on Facebook to say the incident did not 'directly involve any students or staff'.

School statement reassures community

The school's post read: "We are aware of an incident at Stowe Pool this morning. At the present time, and based on the information available to us, we can confirm that the incident does not directly involve any students or staff from Nether Stowe School."

"We understand that members of our community may be concerned when an incident occurs close to the school site. The safety and wellbeing of our students and staff remains our priority, and we will continue to liaise with the appropriate agencies should any further information become available."

The statement added: "Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We kindly ask that people avoid speculation and rely on official updates from the relevant authorities."
