The devastated family of a grandfather who tragically died following a mobility scooter crash have described him as the 'bravest and kindest man'. Lyndon 'Brent' New, 73, was involved in a collision with his mobility scooter and a white VW Caddy van on Holme Lacy Road in Hereford on Wednesday, May 20. He sadly passed away two days later in hospital.
In a joint tribute released today, his children Simon, Kevin, and Lynda said: 'Brent New, our dad and a grandad. He was the bravest, kindest man we knew. Soft, gentle, and caring, he faced life's challenges with quiet strength and never complained. His love, warmth, and selflessness touched everyone who knew him. We are so proud to have called him our dad and will miss him every day. Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever in our hearts. Simon, Kevin and Lynda.'
West Mercia Police also released a photograph of Lyndon today as they continue to investigate the incident. The family has requested privacy as they grieve their loss.
