Detectives in Birmingham are urgently searching for a 17-year-old boy wanted for questioning in connection with the murder of a teenager in Handsworth. Yassin Alama, aged 19, was fatally stabbed on Hutton Road at approximately 5.20pm on Sunday, November 16.

Suspect on the Run as Second Man is Arrested

The suspect, identified as Oumar Traore, remains at large four days after the violent incident. In a recent development, a 20-year-old man was arrested in Birmingham at around 1am on Tuesday, November 18, on suspicion of assisting an offender. He is currently in police custody.

The police cordon at the scene, which included the junction of Hutton Road and Stamford Road, was lifted on Tuesday evening. The blue forensic tent that had been stationed near a local corner shop has now been removed.

Appeal for Information and Family's Devastation

Jenny Birch, from the homicide team, issued a direct appeal, stating: “We have officers working around the clock to locate and arrest Traore. I’d urge him to hand himself in at his nearest police station immediately.”

She also issued a stark warning to anyone potentially helping the suspect, adding, “Anyone who is helping him evade capture also faces arrest.”

The investigation continues, with police providing support to Yassin's family. Yassin’s family have been left absolutely devastated by his tragic death.
