Tragic Stabbing Claims Life of Teenager

The family of a 19-year-old man have been left completely devastated after he was tragically stabbed to death in Handsworth Wood. Yassin Alama lost his life on Hutton Road at approximately 5.20pm on November 16.

Despite the brave efforts of members of the public and emergency medics who rushed to the scene, nothing could be done to save the young man. He was pronounced dead at the location of the violent attack.

Police Hunt for Teenage Suspect

West Midlands Police have launched a major manhunt for a suspect in connection with the murder. They are seeking Oumar Traore, aged 17, who is wanted on suspicion of involvement in Yassin's death.

Detective Jenny Birch, from the force's homicide team, stated: "This was a violent attack in the street which has sadly resulted in the death of Yassin. His family have been left absolutely devastated by what has happened, and we are doing everything we can to support them, and to give them answers."

Officers made several attempts to locate and arrest Traore in the immediate hours following the tragedy but now require the public's assistance.

Appeal for Public Information

Police are urging people not to approach the wanted teenager but to contact them immediately. "We need to find and arrest Traore as soon as possible," added Ms Birch.

Specialist family liaison officers are currently supporting Yassin's heartbroken relatives through this incredibly distressing time.
