A 52-year-old man was arrested in the Erdington area of Birmingham after police spotted him acting suspiciously while carrying a television late on a Saturday evening. The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 pm on November 15 on Slade Road.
Operation Skybridge Leads to Seizure of Items
The arrest was part of Operation Skybridge, a proactive police initiative conducted in Erdington on Friday and Saturday. A spokesperson for West Midlands Police confirmed that the man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and handling stolen goods.
Following the initial stop, officers conducted further searches which led to the seizure of a large television, power tools, and additional electrical items.
Further Arrests Made During Police Operation
The police spokesperson provided more details on the operation's results. "Officers from the proactive crime team arrested two men yesterday (Saturday), and also arrested a man on Friday," they said.
Earlier on Saturday, a 22-year-old man was arrested in Gravelly Lane after being found wanted for failing to appear at court. On Friday, another man was arrested from an address on Milverton Road in Erdington for breaching bail.
